Venezuelan Sergio Muñoz turned heads at the tail end of last year with the sublime Nice & Easy from his debut EP on Urbantorque Easy But Nothing Artificial. The track provoked reactions and plays not only from long-time Urbantorque fans such as misters Howells, Cattaneo and Zabiela, but also caught the attention of the likes of M.A.N.D.Y and DJ T, such was its fusion of deep house grooves with the production and tension of minimal techno. On his follow-up the 20 year old Latin sensation does not disappoint, delivering another three tracks of crisp, assuredly aggressive minimal and tech house: cleverly crafted, yet certainly not packing any punches!
Hernan Cattaneo - "you know i like this!"
A-side Double Scotch On The Rocks is a sinister malevolently moody track sure to work the terrace of DC10 this summer. Its techy percussion clicks and patters poignantly throughout while spacey bleeps add to the sense of nervous trepidation masterfully evoked.
The B-side opens with Greedy People: minimal tech house with maximum effect, it goes for the jugular and hits where it hurts. Following this up, Qwerty goes in for the kill with a relentless barrage of ferocious loops, bleeps and beeps, no mercy.
The On The Rocks EP presents three tracks packed with testosterone and angst. Brash and angry, yet not harsh, thanks to Sergio’sSergio has struck again with three fiercely feisty cuts. Use to full effect; this is seriously dangerous dancefloor ammunition!

Jamie Pollock - "Bit of a suprise this one!! Didnt even know Sergio had lined up a new ep. This ones just as good as the last. Full of techy grooves. Double Scotch and Greedy People are the picks on this one for my darker and heavier moments. Cheers Leigh!!"
Dave Horne - "'Double Scotch on the Rocks' has worked well for me, in as similar vein to Sam Ball's 'Past Present and Future'. The Munoz track has that superb deep proggy feel, which works an absolute treat in my sets. Tracks like 'Qwerty' are also very useful, supplying that minimal tech house feel. Will be giving 'Double Scotch' plenty of plays, for sure"
Chad Stolerick - "A1. Double Scotch On The Rocks - Starts off with a great ping pong effect and punchy bass line and then adds a crisp snare. Slowly building back and forth this song sounds like a chemistry set getting ready to fizzle over! B1. Greedy People - This track has a real warehouse industrial 90's feel with squeeky little effects that is complimented by a dark synth loop effect and gives you the creeps! Definately on the halloween playlist and I also like the beat repeat effect on the tail end of the bass line, sounds like windshield wipers and a train blowing off steam! B2. Qwerty - OK this is sick, its like pacman vs knightrider! It has a nice crashing hat with some trippy effects that take you on a ride!"
Tom Morgan - "A bit darker than I usually play but there's something about Qwerty I like, nice wee grove to it that would get the floor moving"
Kevin Shiu (Canada) - "You guys are unstoppable.Another great package.I have to be careful not to play my whole set on just Urban Torque.Thank you once again"
Jorge Garcia (Yorch) - "This latin guy has nice production skills, the first track - Double Scotch on the rocks - makes sense. This is not the best Urbantorque release for me, but it can be played at first hour in a club to warm up the dancefloor"
Brent Beaudette - "Dirty business here from Sergio Munoz. "Greedy People" is definitely the pick on this package. "Double Scotch" has a great bass line and some nice elements too. "Qwerty" sort of misses the mark for me, but a solid release nonetheless"
