Scope - All Night Long / Fahrenheit

Belfast’s Ric McClelland aka Scope is fast becoming something of a production sensation. With just three releases and one remix under his belt he’s already garnering support and huge reactions from a plethora of DJs including the likes of Laurent Garnier, Sander Kleinenberg and Desyn Masiello.

Low and behold, he’s come up with another couple of big hitters. ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Fahrenheit’ are two monster tracks designed to whip-up a crowd and work them like putty. Heavy.

‘All Night Long’ is a funky roller that builds and bounces its way to dancefloor devastation. All the elements are there: groove, gentle chords, and uplifting synths mid-track to put smiles on the faces of those freakin’ ravers. ‘Fahrenheit’ continues to raise the temperature, if you’ll excuse the bad pun, a wave of warm chords, it’s as feel-good as a cold beer on a warm day. Cleverly drawn-out breakdowns and even a bit of rave-like piano riff will ensure big crowd reactions.

The genius of Scope is that he doesn’t over-complicate things, he doesn’t stick to one particular style, and he doesn’t seem too bothered about being cool or groundbreaking; he just makes house music that works where it was intended. It gets feet moving, hands raised and smiles all round, and ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Fahrenheit’ overwhelmingly prove the effectiveness of this approach. Long live Scope, King of the dancefloor.
